Hyphen is nationally accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) and has received programmatic accreditation for its Cosmetology, Full Specialist and Massage Therapy programs.

9 months | 1,200 hours | $8,995, including Hyphen's Burmax kit with three real-hair mannequins and license fees
Learn cutting, coloring, braiding, blowouts and texture services from our top-rated instructors. You get ready for the Florida state board exam. You also get hours of salon practice on campus.
2.5 months | 220 hours | $4,980, including the Dermalogica kit and license fees
Master skin care, facials, chemical peels, LED therapy and advanced treatments. Hyphen's Dermalogica kit is valued at $980 and covers up to 120 facials. The state only asks for 30. All teaching and testing happen at Hyphen, so you skip the outside exam to become a Facial Specialist. Hyphen is a Dermalogica Partnership School and you can get your Dermalogica Certification for free as part of this course.
2 months | 180 hours | $3,690, including Hyphen's Young Nails kit, your own drill and license fees
Train in manicures, pedicures, nail art, acrylics and gel nails. The whole program is built around hands-on practice. All testing happens at Hyphen, so there is no state exam to become a Nail Specialist. We are the only accredited school in the area that teaches nails on its own.
5 months | 600 hours | $7,190, including Hyphen's Nail kit, Dermalogica kit and license fees
This program puts skin care and nails in one license. Large spas, hotels and resorts pick Full Specialists over single-license holders. That means more job opportunities and higher pay. No outside exam is required. Florida asks for 400 hours. We teach 600.
6 months | 600 hours | $6,490, including Hyphen's aluminum-framed massage table, kit and license fee
Our massage school gets you ready for the MBLEx exam. Pass it and you are a licensed massage therapist in Florida. You will study anatomy, plus Swedish, lymphatic, medical, deep tissue and sports massage. You will also learn reflexology and hydrotherapy.
Already licensed? Add skills with short classes you can take one at a time.
Hold a license from another state or country? Our Registrar can move it to Florida so you can work here. We also move Florida licenses to another state. Transfers take about 4 months and cost $500 to $800.

Yes. Hyphen's hybrid schedule allows you to attend classes 2 to 3 days per week and complete theory online. Most students continue working their full- or part-time jobs while attending school.
Yes. Our eLearning platform delivers content in English and Spanish, and most of our instructors are bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
Hyphen is nationally accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). However, the school has yet to receive a FAFSA code from the Department of Education. We expect to receive this code by the end of the year, which will allow Hyphen to receive federal student loans.
In the meantime, Hyphen offers interest-free payment plans. You pay $550 to $660 at enrollment, depending on the program, and the balance in monthly payments of $833 to $1,098 for 3 to 9 months. Through these interest-free installment plans, you will not have any student debt when you graduate.
We offer multiple programs throughout the week on a revolving "wheel" so the average wait time is usually 2 to 3 months between entry points. Please contact our admissions office for the upcoming start dates.
To become a hair stylist: complete our 9-month cosmetology program which will prepare you to take the Florida state exam.
To become a Licensed Esthetician: complete our 2.5-month Esthetics program. All testing will take place at Hyphen. You do not need to sit for an external exam.
To become a Licensed Nail Technician: complete our 2-month Nail Technology program. All testing will take place at Hyphen. You do not need to sit for an external exam.
To become a Licensed Massage Therapist: complete our 6-month massage program which will prepare you to take the MBLEx exam.

Many trade schools and technical schools in Orlando require long daily schedules and higher tuition. Hyphen uses a hybrid model: lectures and quizzes online, hands-on training in person. This reduces the time you spend in classrooms and cuts tuition costs so you pay half of what you would otherwise pay at a technical school.
Both. Hyphen is licensed as a beauty school, but we operate like a trade school or technical school, offering focused vocational training that leads directly to state licensure and careers in cosmetology, esthetics, nails, and massage.
