The Skill Behind Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is done with a small, sharp blade and nothing else. There's no acid and no machine, so the result depends on your hand: the angle, the pressure and the stroke.

The goal is to lift dead skin cells and fine facial hair without scraping too hard. That takes practice, and it's why blade technique is the heart of this class.

What You'll Learn in Dermaplaning Training

The class covers the three parts of every dermaplaning treatment.

Skin prep

The blade needs a clean, dry surface to work well. You'll practice getting the skin ready before you start. Good prep makes the rest of the treatment smoother and safer for your client.

Blade technique

You'll practice holding the skin taut, keeping a steady angle and using short, even strokes. The aim is control, not speed.

Aftercare

Freshly treated skin needs care. You'll learn to walk your clients through what to do after their visit, so they leave knowing how to look after their skin.

Why Add Dermaplaning to Your Service Menu

Dermaplaning needs very little equipment, so it's an easy service to add. You can offer it on its own or pair it with a facial you already do.

It also gives you an option for clients who aren't ready for a peel. More than one way to help means you can match the treatment to each client.
