If you’ve ever dreamed of turning your passion for beauty into a rewarding career, enrolling in a makeup artist course is the perfect first step. At Hyphen Beauty School in Orlando, we train students who want to become licensed professionals in the fast-growing beauty industry. Our Esthetics program includes hands-on instruction in skincare, makeup artistry, and advanced beauty techniques that prepare you for real-world success.
Many people don’t realize that in Florida, if you want to charge for makeup services, you must hold an Esthetician license. That means completing an approved esthetics program—not just short makeup workshops. At Hyphen, our Esthetics course is designed with makeup enthusiasts in mind, giving you both the legal foundation and the artistic training to build a thriving career.
While short “makeup boot camps” can help you learn basic skills, they won’t qualify you to work legally as a paid artist in Florida. A licensed esthetician can:
Offer makeup services professionally and legally.
Provide advanced skincare treatments that enhance your artistry.
Work in salons, spas, hotels, and freelance opportunities.
Expand into bridal, photography, television, and special-effects makeup.
By completing our Esthetics program, you’re not just learning to apply foundation and eyeshadow—you’re gaining full professional credibility that sets you apart in the beauty industry.
At Hyphen Beauty School, our Esthetics curriculum blends creativity with technical training. As a student, you’ll learn:
Makeup Application Techniques: Color theory, skin tone matching, contouring, highlighting, eye design, bridal looks, and special occasion makeup.
Skincare Fundamentals: Skin analysis, cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and preparation for flawless makeup application.
Product Knowledge: How to select and use professional makeup lines, brushes, and tools for different skin types and occasions.
Advanced Beauty Services: Facials, lash and brow enhancements, and treatments that go hand-in-hand with makeup artistry.
Every part of the course is hands-on, preparing you for both the Florida esthetics licensing exam and the day-to-day realities of being a makeup professional.
Hyphen’s Esthetics program is built for students with a busy schedule. Classes meet two days per week based on the following schedules:
Monday & Tuesday, 9am – 7pm
Wednesday & Thursday, 9am – 7pm
Saturday & Sunday, 9am – 7pm. Join the waitlist if weekends work best.
Lectures and quizzes are delivered through our online eLearning platform, so in-person class time is focused on real practice with clients. Content is available in English and Spanish, and our instructors are fluent in both languages.
Total tuition for Hyphen’s Esthetics Program Orlando is $4,540, which includes:
2.5 months of expert instruction (220 hours)
Online Learning Platform
Dermalogica Student Kit and Lash Kit
All Florida state board license and registration fees
Only $600 is due at enrollment. The remaining balance can be paid interest-free while you’re in school—around $1,100 per month.
Note: Federal student grants and loans do not apply for any 220 hour Esthetics program in the State of Florida. This is because federal funding only applies to programs above 600 hours. However, most graduates recoup their tuition within three months of working in a spa or salon.
Graduates of our makeup artist course through esthetics can pursue exciting paths, such as:
Freelance bridal and event makeup artist.
Makeup consultant for photography, television, and film.
Beauty advisor for retail cosmetic companies.
Spa or salon esthetician specializing in makeup and skincare.
Lash and brow artist.
Entrepreneur—start your own beauty brand or studio.
With the expanded skillset of a licensed Esthetician, you can capitalize on the many opportunities in Orlando to work in a resort, luxury spa, wellness center, medical spa, dermatology office ... even the large cruise ships hire estheticians on their staff!
