Pick the Two Days That Fit Your Life

Lectures and quizzes are available at any time through Hyphen's eLearning platform, which is available in English and Spanish, and most of our instructors are fluent in both English and Spanish. Because the reading is done at home, your campus hours are spent with your hands on a face instead of in a notebook.

Some students keep the job they have. Others use the five free days to start early at their dream spa as an assistant, so they graduate with a foot already in the door.

What You Learn in 220 Hours

Skin science and analysis

Skin anatomy, conditions and contraindications. You learn to read the skin before you touch it, to tell an inflamed barrier from a reaction, and to recognize when a client belongs in a dermatologist's chair rather than yours.

Treatments

Facials, extractions, exfoliation, masking, waxing, brow shaping and lash work. You practice the full service, not just the hands-on part: consultation, timing, room turnover and the aftercare conversation that leads a client to rebook.

Dermalogica training

Hyphen is one of the largest Dermalogica partner schools in Florida. When you study esthetics with us, you train with Dermalogica products and earn Dermalogica certification. It's included as part of the Esthetician program.

That matters after graduation. Walking into an interview already certified on a professional line is a different conversation than promising you'll learn it on the job.

The business side

Pricing, retail, rebooking and building a client list. Estheticians who rent a room or run a brow bar are running a small business, and the ones who treat it that way from month one do better.

Tuition and What's Included

Tuition is $4,980 for the full 220-hour program. That's about half the cost of similar accredited schools, and there is no separate charge for your kit or your certification. Textbooks are purchased separately, giving students the option to choose e-books or find a better price online.

  • 3 months of instruction at the Winter Park campus
  • Access to the online learning platform, available in English and Spanish
  • Dermalogica student kit (valued at $980) and lash kit
  • Dermalogica certification
  • Florida state board license and registration fees

How the payments work

Only $600 is due at enrollment. The balance is paid interest-free, at approx $1,095 a month for 4 months. No outside lender, no interest, no balloon payment at the end.

How to finance esthetician school in Orlando

About federal aid, before you ask

Federal grants and loans do not apply to any 220-hour esthetics program in Florida, ours included. Federal aid only applies to programs that are more than 599 clock hours. That is true of every Florida esthetics program, not just ours.

We tell you now because it's the question that derails people in month two. The tradeoff is real, though: at $4,980 over 3 months, most graduates recoup tuition within about three months of working in a spa or salon.

One Thing to Check Before You Enroll Anywhere

If you know you're moving in the next few years, look up that state's board before you enroll anywhere, including here. It's a five-minute check that saves people from paying twice. If you're already licensed elsewhere and moving to Florida, we handle that from the other direction.

Where Hyphen Graduates Work

Orlando is one of the hottest markets for Estheticians with over 50 million tourists visiting per year and a large base of retirees based in the area. Where Our Students Commute From

Our building faces I-4 at the Lee Road exit in Winter Park, three miles north of downtown Orlando. That makes it a straight run for anyone along the corridor: Apopka, Altamonte Springs, Sanford, Union Park, Alafaya, Pine Hills, Doctor Phillips and Four Corners.

Because the program only meets two days a week, some students go much farther than that. We have esthetics students regularly commuting from Tampa, Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach.

Where to Go After You're Licensed

Plenty of graduates go straight to work. Others continue their studies to become a Full Specialist or take advanced classes.

The Advanced Esthetics Program is a set of single classes you take when you want them, covering treatments like chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling and hydradermabrasion. You can also earn two advanced lash certifications.

Advanced Esthetics Program

The Full Specialist Program adds the nail technician certification under a single license, allowing graduates to provide both skin and nail services. Larger spas prefer Full Specialists who are able to do skin and nail treatments, which widens your job opportunities.

Want both? Full Specialist covers nails and esthetics and costs $1,480 less than taking the two programs separately.

Full Specialist Program

Career services are free for every student, and we teach business classes for graduates who want to work for themselves. Hyphen offers all graduates ten free sessions using its service rooms and equipment under Hyphen's salon license, helping them start their own salon or spa rent-free.
