Q: Do I need prior experience?

No. Beginners are welcome. You’ll need a high school diploma or GED by the time you graduate.

Q: Do I have to take a state exam?

Yes. At the 1,000-hour mark, Hyphen will generate your invitation to sit for the Florida State Board of Cosmetology exam.

Q: Is financial aid available?

We are in the process of accreditation with COMTA and are scheduled for March 2026. In the meantime, we offer interest-free payment plans: $600 at enrollment and the balance in monthly payments while you are in school—so you graduate without student debt.

Cosmetology School Format

Hyphen’s Cosmetology Program College Park is built for students with busy schedules. Classes meet three days per week from Monday to Wednesday, 9am – 7pm. We are also building the waitlist for a class that runs from Wednesday to Friday, 9am – 7pm.

Lectures are delivered through our online eLearning platform, so in-person class time is focused on real practice with clients. Content is available in English and Spanish, and our instructors are fluent in both languages.

Cosmetology School Tuition

Tuition for Hyphen’s cosmetology school College Park is $7,995, which includes:
