FAQ

How far is Hyphen Beauty School from Union Park?

About 20 minutes by car, making it convenient for students living in East Orlando.

What programs can I take if I live in Union Park?

Since Esthetics, Nail Tech, Full Specialist and Massage programs meet just two days per week, the commute time is marginal. Hyphen's hair school meets three days per week so there is more commute time for this program.

Do I need previous experience?

No. We will take you from beginner to licensed professional in a matter of months.

Do I have to take a state exam?

You do not need to take an external state board exam for Esthetics, Nail and Full Specialist. However, you will need to sit for a state exam for Cosmetology and Massage. Hyphen will prepare you for these exams.

Is financial aid available?

Federal grants only applies for programs that are above 600 hours. Since Florida only requires 220 hours for a Facial Specialist license and 180 hours for a nail license, federal funding does not apply for most schools in Florida.
