Massage Therapy

What will you learn

Hyphen Massage School will prepare you from no experience to licensed massage therapist working in a spa or an entrepreneur starting your own practice.

Hyphen’s lectures and quizzes are delivered online, so students maximize hands-on training when they are on campus.

Why Hyphen is Different

Hyphen offers one of the top eLearning platforms for Massage. This allows students to attend in-person only three days per week while continuing their studies throughout the week via our eLearning platform

While many schools “inflate” their teaching hours in order to charge more tuition, Hyphen follows Florida Department of Education’s 600-hour curriculum. This means that students can graduate and become licensed Massage Therapists in 6 months.

Even though students spend less time on campus and graduate faster, their knowledge and competency of their field surpasses Florida’s standards. Hyphen’s placement rate is consistently over 95% within 3 months of graduation.

The faster, more efficient instruction benefits the students by way of lower tuition. Hyphen’s Massage Therapy program costs $6,250 while competitor schools charge upwards of $15,000.

Course Duration

600 hours. Classes run on from Friday 5pm to 8pm and Saturday-Sunday from
10am to 5pm. You should complete all coursework within 6 months.

We accept Spanish-speaking students as our eLearning platform can deliver content in Spanish based on your preference. Our instructors speak fluent Spanish.

At the end of the course, you will be invited to take the MBLEx exam.

Prerequisites

No prior massage experience needed. You must have a high school diploma or GED by the time you graduate.

Total Tuition

$6,250. This includes five months of instruction, a high-quality portable massage table and massage kit, the state board license fee. We do not cover the cost of the MBLEx exam which you will need to schedule once you receive the invitation.

We use the latest edition of Milady’s massage textbooks which can be purchased via Amazon. The ISBN numbers are listed below in the FAQ.

Only $600 is due at enrollment. The balance of tuition can be spread out over the program. This equates to $800 per month until graduation. You will get a free set of Milady textbooks if you signup and pay in full using cash, check or Zelle.

We do not offer federal student loans or financial aid. However, most students will attest that this program is one of the best bang-for-your-buck programs in Orlando. Most students recoup their tuition within five months after graduation when working in a spa.

Career Opportunities

With a massage therapy license, you can practice in the various massage modalities. Most graduates continue onwards to work in a spa or to start their own spa.

FAQ

When can I start?

We have a new class starting every other month. Please speak to our admissions staff to find out when the next wheel starts.

I can only attend days or nights, can I still enroll?

As long as you complete all of the topics covered in the wheel, you can work with your instructor on the schedule. For instance, if you can only attend the class at nights, you should complete every segment of the wheel within 8 months

Do you offer financial aid?

While we do not offer financial aid, we offer high caliber staff and facilities at a modest price. At $6,250 for the massage therapy program, you will be hard pressed to find a school in Orlando of such quality at such reasonable prices.

What is the ultimate cost versus a school that offers financial aid

The typical cost of the Massage Therapy program for a school that offers financial aid is $15,000. If you qualify, the government will give you a maximum of $6,495 in Pell grants which you do not need to pay back. This leaves you with $8,505 which you need to borrow from the federal government in the form of student loans).

At Hyphen Beauty Academy, the Massage Therapy program costs $6,250. The total cost of our program is cheaper than schools that offer financial aid because the Pell grant covers only a fraction of the total cost.

We offer payment plans so you only need to pay $600 at enrollment and the balance can be paid $800 per month while you are in school.

What books are required for the class?

We use the latest Milady textbooks. Please bring the books (or e-books) to your first day of class:

  • Milady Theory & Practice of Therapeutic Massage, 6th edition ISBN: 9781285187587

  • Trail Guide to the Body, 6th edition ISBN: 978-0998785066
