The Full Specialist program is a combination of the Esthetics and Nail Technology courses. Many of ultimately choose to become a Full Specialist because most large spas and salons prefer dual-licensed professionals.
Hyphen is a Dermalogica Partnership School so as part of the Esthetics course, you will be trained in using the Dermalogica line of products. You also have the free option of being certified in the Dermalogica lineup as part of your instruction.
You have the option to take the Nail Technology and Esthetics courses concurrently (4 days per week, graduating in 3 months) or you can take the courses back-to-back and graduate in 4.5 months.
Employers value the versatility of a Full Specialist. Upon graduation, you will be much more attractive to employers as compared to holding only an esthetics or nail technology license. This is especially true if you plan on working for a large spa where they favor employees to have training for both specialties.
600 hours. Classes run from Mon-Tues from 9am to 7pm OR Wed-Thurs from 9am to 7pm. You will complete the course within 3 months if you attend school four days per week. However, if you can only attend half-day or can only attend on certain days, you can work with your instructors on a customized schedule.
Full Specialist classes run during the same time as the Esthetics and Nail Technology classes. Students can work with their instructor to set their schedules within these time slots (ex. daytime only or nighttime only):
Mon & Tues from 9am to 7pm
Wed & Thur from 9am to 7pm
We are also building the waitlist for a weekend class (Sat & Sun from 9am to 7pm). If you are interested in this timeslot, please select the WAITLIST option when booking your tour.
$6,595 which represents a $1,440 savings as compared to signing up for each program individually. This includes four months of instruction, a Dermalogica esthetics kit, a nail kit, apron, all state board license and registration fees. We use the latest edition of Milady’s textbooks which can be purchased via Amazon. The ISBN numbers are listed below in the FAQ.
At the end of the course, you will test with our lead instructors. You do not need to sit for a state exam.
Federal student grants and loans do not apply for any 400 hour Full Specialist program in the State of Florida. This is because federal funding only applies to programs above 600 hours. However, most students will attest that this program is one of the best bang-for-your-buck programs in Orlando. Most students recoup their tuition within three months after graduation when working in a spa.
With a Full Specialist license, you can work at a nail salon, esthetics spa or to start your own spa/salon. Employers prefer Full Specialists over a single Nail Technician or Esthetics licensee because of their versatility and further training.
And picture your next career evolution
New classes start every month. Please contact admissions for our monthly start dates.
As long as you can hit all of the topics covered in the wheel, you can work with your instructor on the schedule. For instance, if you can only attend on Mondays and Tuesdays, you should complete the wheel within 5 months.
Federal financial aid only applies for programs whose state requirements are above 600 hours. Since Florida only requires 400 hours for a Full Specialist license, federal funding does not apply for most schools in Florida.
We offer payment plans so you only need to pay $600 at enrollment and the balance can be paid monthly while you are in school.
The typical cost of a Full Specialist program from a school that structures their program above 600 hours is $15,000. If you qualify, the government will give you a maximum of $6,495 in Pell grants which you do not need to pay back. This leaves you with $8,505 which you need to borrow from the federal government in the form of student loans.
At Hyphen Beauty School, the Full Specialist program costs $6,595. The total cost of our program is cheaper than schools that offer financial aid because the Pell grant does not cover the total cost.
You also graduate much faster due to the eLearning program.
You can enroll in the program with a $600 deposit. Then it is $990 per month until full payment is made or until you graduate.
We use the latest Milady textbooks and workbooks. Please bring the books (or e-books) to your first day of class:
