Searching for a cosmetology school near Altamonte Springs? Hyphen Beauty School in Winter Park is just 10 minutes south via I-4. Our 1,200-hour cosmetology program gets you fully licensed in Florida in only 9 months—one of the fastest paths to becoming a professional cosmetologist serving Seminole County - and at half the price of peer schools.
Hyphen combines small class sizes, hands-on learning, and an eLearning platform to give you the skills, confidence, and support to succeed in today’s beauty industry.
3-Day Weekly Schedule - Classes meet Monday through Wednesday from 9am-7pm. This schedule works perfectly for Altamonte Springs residents who want to continue working while attending school.
Graduate in 9 Months, Not 12+ - Most cosmetology schools require students on campus 4-5 days per week for 12-15 months. At Hyphen, our hybrid eLearning model lets you complete Florida's 1,200-hour requirement in just 9 months while attending only three days per week (Monday-Wednesday). That means you can graduate faster and start earning sooner.
Hybrid Learning Model - All theory and Lectures are conducted online through our eLearning platform. When you come to campus Monday-Wednesday, you skip the lectures and focus entirely on hands-on work: cutting hair, applying color, doing perms, performing facials, sculpting nails, and creating makeup looks on real clients under instructor supervision..
10-Minute Commute via I-4 South - From Altamonte Springs, take I-4 South toward Orlando and exit at Lee Road (exit 88). Turn left onto Lee Road, then immediate right onto N Wymore Road. Our campus is right there—about 10 minutes from Altamonte Mall. If you're coming from the SR-436 corridor near Cranes Roost or the Seminole County Library, it's an easy hop onto I-4 South..
Small Class Cohorts - We cap cosmetology classes at just 20 students per cohort. That means your instructors know your name, watch your technique closely, and give you real, personalized feedback. You're not lost in a class of 40+ students all competing for practice time.
Access to Multiple Specialists - Unlike schools that only have hair instructors, Hyphen's cosmetology students also learn from our licensed esthetics and nail technology instructors. This gives you a more well-rounded education and makes you more valuable to employers..
Bilingual Instruction - All course content is available in both English and Spanish. Our instructors are fluent in both languages, so you can learn in whichever language you're most comfortable with.
